Every child dreams of hearing the ice cream van coming down the street.
Growing up in a small village in Greece, I would press my ear to the ground just to catch the first rumble of its wheels, then spend the whole day waiting in pure excitement.
Little did I know that one day, I would be the ice cream lady bringing that same joy to children and families across Melbourne.
It all began in 1982 in Endeavour Hills, when I bought and designed my very first van. None of it would have been possible without my mum, her belief in me, and her support in making it happen, is where this whole journey started.
Over the years, we have had the pleasure of serving Melbourne from every corner of the city. For many wonderful summers, we had two vans at Elwood Beach, back when everyone would come out for a cruise along the foreshore and life felt a little simpler. Years of hard work, passion, and dedication have brought us to where we are today.
We have grown into one of Melbourne's most loved event ice cream experiences, having served at the Formula 1 Grand Prix and countless other major events. We also created what became Melbourne's No. 1 marshmallow ice cream cone, a single or double soft serve nestled in a cloud of yummy marshmallows and sprinkles. Our very own recipe, made with love.
My husband Nick and I are proud to welcome two beautiful new vans to our fleet, bringing us to five vans serving Melbourne. Together with our family, we operate 11 vans in total, so Melbourne, you're in very good hands!
